Year 3 Planetarium Excursion

As part of their Integrated Studies unit, Third Rock from the Sun, our Year 3 students recently visited the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium for an exciting day of discovery.

Exploring Space

A highlight of the day was the digital dome presentation, which brought the night sky to life and deepened students’ understanding of day and night, the seasons and the relationship between the Earth, Sun and Moon. This immersive experience supported and extended their classroom learning in a memorable way.

Botanic Gardens Scavenger Hunt

After the planetarium, students took part in a fun checklist hunt through the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, spotting spiky trees, hungry birds, and even a cockatoo in boots!

The excursion blended education and adventure, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among all students.
