LIFE Program Has Kicked Off At King's Pimpama

Lani Grieve, LIFE Program Coordinator

The LIFE Program has kicked off at King’s Pimpama in 2024 under the guidance and leadership of Lani Grieve. The LIFE Program aims to build the King’s local and international community through various events, fundraising projects, and other initiatives. This program gives our students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills by serving our community at school and those in our neighbourhood.

Starting in Year 5, our Upper Primary and High School students will have the opportunity to volunteer their time by getting involved in activities held on campus or in the community at large. In return for their involvement in helping with fundraising events and volunteering at events like EasterFest and Spring Fair, the students’ hours are noted and at the end of each year they have the chance to be recognised for a Service Award. The more hours they do, the higher the recognition.

LIFE Program Coordinator, Lani Grieve said, “We aim to have 100+ students get involved in this program this year and I’m looking forward to mentoring the students along this exciting journey for our Campus.”

“In Term 1, we will be supporting our school mission trips by hosting a fundraiser in both the primary and high school. These events will gather both funds and resources that our high school students will take to St George at Easter and Bali in June, to bless their communities.”

The other charities that the school supports includes 100% Hope, Operation Christmas Child and King’s Community Care to mention a few.

Another initiative the LIFE team will be supporting is Kindness Day. Last year the Chaplaincy and Student Wellbeing team promoted the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world by wearing something Pink every Wednesday. The LIFE Program will be focusing on acts of kindness to inspire our students and staff throughout the year. Please feel free to support the LIFE Program in any way you can.
