Library Lovers Week
King’s School Libraries celebrate Library Lovers’ Week every February. It is a week to remember that our libraries are a place to find a great book, whether it is an adventure, mystery, historical fiction, a funny story, or to discover information. We have so many more resources to offer, including magazines and online resources for your student’s school assignments.
Our junior students participated in a colouring competition, with a class winner receiving an ice block and year level winners receiving a book prize.
Our Year 4 – 12 students and staff who borrowed a book during the week automatically went in a draw to win a daily tuckshop prize. They could also spin our prize wheel to win instant prizes or go into draws to win a $10 tuckshop prize or a $20 QBD voucher. This year, we also introduced our “Library Lovers Loyalty card”, which allowed students to win a $50 Robina Town Centre gift card. High school students could also borrow a “Blind Date with a Book”.
We love encouraging our students to borrow as we understand the vital importance of our student's reading. We had hundreds of entries in our competition, and the week was very busy and lots of fun!
