King’s Pimpama Ensembles perform for Year 3 and 4

Logan Village

The Year 3 and 4 were blessed this week with a concert performance from the King’s Pimpama Symphonic Wind Band and the Senior String Orchestra.

After beginning their Orchestral Music Program in Term 1, Year 4 have been eagerly learning and growing in their skill and understanding of Music. The concert was an opportunity for the students to gain a greater understanding of what they are aiming for in their ensembles and to inspire them toward a commitment to practice and dedication to their instruments. The opportunity to see the instrument they are learning being played by senior students was very inspiring.

For Year 3, the concert was the first step in their introduction to the instruments of the orchestra.

Here are the two stories written by Year 4 students :

Last Tuesday, the King's Pimpama high school band and strings orchestra kids came to our school and played their awesome music. I would say the first band song was very dramatic, which I liked. The second one was relaxing and calm. Strings was also dramatic and it sounded like it was from a movie. On behalf of Year 4, thank you for coming. Everyone loved it!

Last Tuesday, the King's Pimpama high school kids came to our school to perform. They started by performing an exciting song from a movie, but I didn't know it. The next song was also from a movie, and I relished it. Next, there were the strings, and the first song was already my favourite because it was highly suspenseful, but then we had to finish. The songs were really great and we all enjoyed it. I would really like to perform like them.
