History-making Struddys Cup Grand Final Rugby League Premiership for King's Pimpama
The King's Pimpama pairing of twins, Noah and Kobe Te-Kiri set Langlands Park alight at the Grand Finals of the Struddys Cup on Tuesday 3 September. The Year 8 students and their team mates captivated onlookers with their 46-nil win to Redcliffe SHS that iced an almost perfect undefeated season with premiership glory.
The first year of Rugby League at King's Pimpama, this team sparked an eight try explosion to bring home the victory shield. The player of the match was halfback, Leison Malu, who added the finishing touches to all but one of King's eight try barrage. Leison also had the Midas touch off the boot, and with ball in hand, played a big part of our winning performance. This winning rugby league team quickly turned defence into clinical attacking raids on their opponents.
With precise left to right passes and accurate kicking found a way for players Papu Purcell, Russel Mapatano and Ayvree Wetere gave King's the barnstorming edge and downpayment for victory when the team were leading by 18 to nil at half time. Congratulations to Leison for kicking seven for eight goals in the match. Blaine Adams was a top notch defender and communicator on the field, aiding in the winning tries.
