As we journey through what has been a vibrant and inspiring term, we’re excited to share just some of the many highlights from high school life. Our days have been filled with energy, curiosity, and celebration as we continue to champion student success and create rich, purposeful learning experiences. At the heart of everything we do is a deep commitment to recognising growth and ensuring every student feels supported, challenged, and empowered to thrive.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND REPORTING

Celebrating Academic Progress

This term, we proudly hosted an Honours Assembly to recognise the academic achievements of our Year 11 students. Celebrating student success is an important part of our culture. In Term 3, we look forward to acknowledging outstanding achievements in Years 7–10 and Year 12.

Assessment, Exams and Reports

Throughout Term 2, students engaged in a range of assessment activities, including assignments, in-class tasks, and Exam Blocks.

  • Reports for Years 7–10 will be available on the Parent Portal during the holidays.
  • Year 11–12 results and Learning Habits will be accessible via Compass.

Semester 2 Assessment Schedules
Assessment schedules for Years 7–11 will be released early in Term 3. Year 12 students have already received their schedules.

Supporting Year 12

ATAR predictions have provided valuable motivation for our Year 12 students as they prepare for their final exams. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue their journey with focus and determination. The QCAA external exam schedule is available here.

Attendance and Punctuality

Consistent attendance is critical to student achievement. Our Heads of House and Teaching and Learning team are working closely with families to meet our 95% attendance goal and ensure every minute of learning counts.

Year 7

  • English: Explored a “Museum of Treasures” linked to their novel study The Seventh Most Important Thing.
  • Science: Investigated forces through a hands-on parachute experiment.
  • Food & Textiles: Designed healthy tuckshop snacks with a focus on nutrition and teamwork.
  • Humanities: Examined Ancient Egyptian artefacts to curate a museum-style exhibit.

Year 8

  • Science: Conducted Chemistry experiments and began end-of-term revision.
  • Food & Textiles: Designed nutritious tuckshop snacks in collaborative pairs.
  • Humanities: Studied Shogunate Japan and the Black Death in a medieval world context.

Year 9

  • Christian Studies: Explored the King’s Quest theme, Getting Along With Others, through practical and team-based activities.
  • Science: Studied Earth and Space, climate change, and photosynthesis.
  • Dance: Choreographed original storybook-inspired routines.
  • Food & Textiles: Sewed retro pyjamas (Textiles) and explored global cuisines (Food).
  • Humanities: Completed WWI source analysis.
  • Young Entrepreneurs: Participated in BizDay, applying enterprise skills in real-world scenarios.

Year 10

  • English: Engaged with Poetry in Action to support narrative writing.
  • Christian Studies: Discussed faith and the Bible with guest speaker Dan Patterson.
  • Science: Explored Newton’s laws through Physics experiments.
  • Dance: Investigated over 15 traditional dance styles.
  • Food & Textiles: Focused on health and wellbeing through nutrition-based projects.
  • Humanities: Developed knowledge across Civics, Economics, Geography, and History electives.

Year 11

  • English: Selected play texts for upcoming studies.
  • Christian Studies: Explored personal-interest electives.
  • Dance: Performed full-production assessments in the auditorium.
  • Food & Nutrition: Investigated food trends, sustainability, and eating habits.
  • Modern History: Conducted research at the State Library of Queensland.
  • Digital Art: Captured nature photography at Cougal Cascades for layered portraits.
  • Geography: Completed skills camp at Moreton Island and conducted fieldwork at Burleigh Heads.

Year 12

  • Business: Explored tourism in action during a Dreamworld excursion.
  • Geography: Attended a 3-day geographical skills camp on Moreton Island.
  • Digital Art: Practised surf photography at Snapper Rocks and Rainbow Beach.
